Ohm Radio @ Piccolo Spoleto Finale

A NIGHT THAT HIT ALL THE RIGHT NOTES!

If Charleston had ordered up the perfect evening, this would've been it.

Hampton Park was in full bloom, the weather was 100 (and we don’t mean humidity) and thousands gathered for the Piccolo Spoleto Finale—a celebration of Women in Rock, emerging talent, mentorship, and the kind of community magic that happens when great music meets great people.

Ohm Radio was proud to keep the beverages flowing from our bustling tent while connecting with listeners, volunteers, artists, and neighbors old and new. The night reflected so much of what we believe in: supporting local creatives, amplifying diverse voices, and creating space for the next generation of musicians to shine.

A huge thank you to the City of Charleston, our volunteers, sponsors, beverage partners, and everyone who stopped by to say hello, grab a drink, or talk radio.

About

OHM RADIO is Charleston’s first community, commercial-free radio station! We have been on the air 24/7 Since August 1, 2015. Ohm Radio will broadcast music by local, independent, and legendary artists. We’ll spread the good word about what local entrepreneurs, non-profits, and social groups are doing to enhance our community. We will unite Charleston’s diverse community of voices with original and creative programming.

The Meaning Behind Our Name

In physics, an OHM is a unit of resistance, and this OHM Radio campaign is about resisting corporate “piped-in” radio and promoting local, noncommercial radio that is genuine, relevant, and reflects who we are as a community.

WHO’S TUNING IN:

Our local audience spans ages 25–57+, with a highly educated and professionally established listenership—54% hold a college degree and 37% have earned a master’s degree.

They are financially engaged, with 28% earning $60–90K annually, 36% in the $90–200K range, and 12% exceeding $200K.

Listening habits reflect strong local connection and accessibility: 73% tune in via FM, 23% stream online, and 4% listen through the app.

Most notably, 100% of surveyed listeners say that independent media matters to them—an audience that is not only attentive, but deeply aligned with our mission.
